This is the sister painting to the “Pretty Nose” portrait. It is meant to be a reminder of the wisdom in keeping our eyes on the things that really matter, and being unmoved by the insignificant or meaningless parts of life that can be easy to get caught up in. Often the truth is large, simple, right in front of us, and we don’t see it. A mountain, though, stands firm and still, changing at a much slower rate while time, people, animals, and plants constantly change around it.
